Natalya Apchinskaya was a prominent Georgian writer and literary critic born in Tbilisi in 1967. She earned her degree in philology from Tbilisi State University and went on to become a prolific writer, publishing numerous essays, articles, and books on Georgian literature and culture. Her most well-known work is an essay on the life and art of Niko Pirosmani, a renowned Georgian painter. Apchinskaya's writing was known for its depth of insight and poetic style, and she was widely respected in Georgian literary circles. She passed away in 2015 at the age of 48, leaving behind a legacy of insightful and thought-provoking writing.
